Reviving The Old Social Networking Accounts

Follow bloggerandy on Twitter

Today, I've decided to start working on reviving my old social accounts. I've had a bunch of them, had a MySpace account for a while, just to connect with friends and family. I made a Twitter account when it first appeared on the web just to do it, not that I ever really used it. And of course I have a facebook account just to play FarmVille. It dawned on my the other day that I these might just come in handy in creating a large social network *duh!* I mean, I never really just went out and looked for people with similar interests to mine, or followed people in hopes that they would follow me. Now, realizing that organic traffic is everything these days, it only makes sense for me to utilize the full effectiveness of these free tools. Not that I plan on spamming everybody in my account, we all know where that gets us. These sites were designed for exactly that purpose, to allow people to build large, self-expanding social networks. Take this blog for example, how did you get here? Did you follow my post on MySpace, or my tweet on Twitter? I didn't spam people, I didn't send out junk emails or copy/past IM's to all of my friends and followers. I simply notified my friends of my latest blog entry.

Now, realizing that organic traffic is everything these days, it only makes sense for me to utilize the full effectiveness of these free tools.

It really is amazing how fast one can build a network, even a following, on the social sites. There are millions of people just trying to get people to look at their stuff, and willing to, in exchange, look at yours. Now multiply that by the number of social sites that the average person has, and you have yourself quite a few easy connections. We've already established that authentic traffic is everything... the hard part is getting it.('DiggThis’)Share
